Remember: From September 25 to 27, 2020, an exceptional show was given in honor of Maurice Genevoix. First, you enter Les Vernelles, the emblematic home of the writer and perpetual secretary of the Académie Française.
“Maurice Genevoix, de Loire et de gloire” is performed by Vincent Barraud, actor, and Julien Larere-Genevoix, the writer’s grandson, who enriches the writer’s words with family memories from his mother Sylvie Genevoix. In these exceptional conditions, listen to and dream about the most beautiful extracts from his work. Enjoy the richness of these festivities over a weekend in Saint-Denis-de-l’Hôtel, Loiret.
Before the show, preview the “Genevoix au vent de galerne” exhibition, then visit the Vernelles house so dear to the Prix Goncourt winner, where he wrote most of his work. And above all, enjoy a “andouille de Jargeau”, a local specialty much appreciated by this gourmet. It’s likely to be served with “Côtes de Meuse” wines from Les Éparges.

Remember: in autumn 2020, the town of Châteauneuf-sur-Loire invited you to pay tribute to Maurice Genevoix.
– Son et lumière” events in October, featuring texts on the writer’s life in Châteauneuf, the Loire and ecology: every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 8 p.m., 8:15 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. in the Place du Port, with the Châteauneuf bridge as the main attraction,
– a read-aloud “Au cadran de mon clocher” at the Musée de la Marine de Loire on November 7,
– a grand spectacle with fireworks on November 7.
